Sweetwater Economic Development Association (SWEDA) was established in 1987 by four dedicated businessmen who had a vision for the future of Sweetwater County. These businessmen began working with the state and then eventually local leaders within Sweetwater County. SWEDA was created as a volunteer organization to focus on the betterment of the local economy through the recruitment, expansion and retention of Sweetwater County business and industry. SWEDA is committed to their mission to grow business and create jobs in Sweetwater County, Wyoming. SWEDA is a non-profit 501 (c) 6 organization that is overseen by a 15 Member Board of Directors, while the day-to-day operations are managed by a Director and staff.
SWEDA actively seeks new business and industry to call Sweetwater County home, while also supporting current businesses as an advocate and liason between local government, Wyoming Business Council and federal agencies on a host of programmatic and regulatory issues of importance to SWEDA members.
